    Summary:

    Here is Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys’ and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as “Greased Lightnin’,” “It’s Raining on Prom Night” and “Alone at the Drive-In Movie,” recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. An eight-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals, along with innumerable school and community productions, place Grease among the world’s most popular musicals.

    Character Breakdown:

    DANNY ZUKO: Male, High School Teen (Range: tenor, D4–B5) The leader of the Burger Palace Boys; good-looking, strong and confident, with an air of easy-going charm.

    SANDY DUMBROWSKI: Female, High School Teen (Range: Soprano, A3–F#5) New girl in town; sweet, wholesome, naive, cute, and innocent.

    BETTY RIZZO: Female, High School Teen (Range:Alto A3–C5) Leader of the Pink Ladies; tough, sarcastic, and outspoken but vulnerable.

    FRENCHY: Female, High School Teen (Range: Alto, A3–D5) A dreamer; good-natured but not too smart, she is heavily made up, fussy about her appearance, particularly her hair. She can't wait to finish high school so she can be a beautician.

    MARTY: Female, High School Teen (Range Alto, C4–C5) The 'beauty' of the Pink Ladies; pretty and looks older than the other girls, but betrays her real age when she opens her mouth. She tries to act sophisticated.

    JAN: Female, High School Teen (Range: Alto, A3-C5) Funny, loud, compulsive eater, and awkward member of the Pink Ladies. Loud and pushy with the girls, but shy with boys.

    DOODY: Male, High School Teen (Range: Tenor, D4-A5) The youngest of the guys; small, boyish, and open, with a disarming smile and a hero-worshipping attitude towards the other guys. He also plays the guitar.

    KENICKIE: Male, High School Teen (Range: Tenor, C4–F5) The second in command of the Burger Palace Boys; tough-looking, tattooed, surly, and avoids any show of softness. He has an offbeat sense of humor.

    SONNY LATIERRI: Male, HighSchool Teen (Range: baritone, G3–A5) A member of the Burger Palace Boys; funny Italian-American, he is a braggart and wheeler-dealer who thinks he's a real lady-killer

    ROGER: Male, High School Teen (Range: Tenor, D4-A5) The anything-for-a-laugh stocky type of boy; a clown who enjoys winding people up, he is full of mischief and is always dreaming up half-baked schemes and ideas.

    VINCE FONTAINE: Male, High School Teen (Range: Ensemble/Part Flexible) A typical 'teen audience' disc jockey; slick, egotistical and fast-talking. He is also a veteran 'Greaser.'

    CHA-CHA, aka CHARLENE, DIGREGORIO: Female, High School Teen (Range: Alto, C4–C5) The best dancer at St. Bernadette's; a loud mouth, she wins the dancing competition with Danny.

    EUGENE FLORCZYK: Male, High School Teen (Range: Tenor, A3–E5) The class valedictorian; physically awkward, with weak eyes and a high-pitched voice. He's a typical 'apple-polisher' - both smug and pompous, but gullible.

    JOHNNY CASINO: Male, High School Teen (Range: Tenor, G4-E5) All-American, rock-star “greaser” student at Rydell High, whose real name is Clarence.

    MISS LYNCH: Female, Age Flexible (Range: Ensemble/Part Flexible) A no-nonsense, serious, loud English teacher.

    PATTY SIMCOX: Female, High School Teen (Range: Alto, D4-A4) A typical cheerleader; attractive, athletic, sure-of-herself, but can be given to bursts of disconcerting enthusiasm. She's a bit of a pain and unpopular with the Pink Ladies, and can twirl a baton.

    TEEN ANGEL: Male, Age Flexible (Range: Tenor, E4–F5) Frenchy's suave and slick guardian angel, who encourages her to stay in school. 

    THE PINK LADIES: Ensemble (SATB) The club-jacketed, gum-chewing, hip-swinging girls' gang who hang around with the Burger Palace Boys.

    THE BURGER PALACE BOYS: Ensemble (SATB) A super-cool, DA-haired, hard-looking group of high school wheeler-dealers... or so they think.

    SUMMARY:

    THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and a dilemma that’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family—a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before—keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

    CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

    Gomez Addams - Baritone/Tenor
    The suave, passionate patriarch of the Addams family. Devoted husband to Morticia and enthusiastic father to Wednesday and Pugsley. A romantic at heart, theatrical, expressive, and deeply loyal — but caught between his wife and daughter when secrets arise. Strong comedic timing required.

    Morticia Addams - Alto
    The elegant, mysterious matriarch. Poised, regal, and fiercely protective of her family. Morticia is the calm center of the Addams chaos, with razor-sharp wit and a taste for the macabre. Must command the stage with presence and dry humor.

    Uncle Fester - Tenor
    A lovable, childlike eccentric — sweet, odd, and tinged with magic. Fester acts as a whimsical narrator and holds deep love for his quirky family. Must be playful, genuine, and able to break the fourth wall.

    Grandma - Alto/Mezzo
    A wild, witchy elder with secrets, spells, questionable potions, and even more questionable sanity. Funny, unpredictable, and full of cackling energy.

    Wednesday Addams - Mezzo/Soprano
    A dark, independent soul with a romantic streak she’d never admit to. Now grown, she has fallen in love with a “normal” boy and struggles between family loyalty and her future. Dry, intense, deadpan humor, but with emotional depth.

    Pugsley Addams - Child/Teen
    A mischievous, explosive ball of chaotic energy. Loves traps, torture devices, and especially being tortured by Wednesday. Sensitive underneath the strange exterior; fears losing his sister’s attention.

    Lurch - Bass
    The towering, slow-moving butler. Speaks mostly in grunts until a surprising musical reveal. Requires strong physical comedy skill and a commanding, deadpan presence.

    Mal Beineke - Baritone
    Wednesday’s future father-in-law. A conservative, rigid man struggling to connect emotionally and hold his family together. His journey helps him rediscover passion and vulnerability.

    Alice Beineke -Soprano/Mezzo
    Mal’s cheerful, eccentric-in-waiting wife. Appears sweet and proper, but hiding simmering frustrations. Has a comedic and emotionally explosive arc; must handle spoken-word poetry and heightened comedy.

    Lucas Beineke - Tenor
    Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend. Hopeful, sincere, and open-hearted. Determined to prove himself worthy to Wednesday and the Addams family — even if it means embracing the weird.

    The Ancestors (Ensemble)

    All voice types; strong movers and character actors
    Addams family spirits from across time, each with a distinct personality (Pirate, Bride, Soldier, etc.). They serve as Wednesday’s subconscious, the family’s chorus, and magical guides throughout. Tight ensemble singing & stylized movement required.
